Harvest Day: The New Home Business Academy Goes Public Monday the 26th

October 22, 2026by Bill Feaver

Out on the farm, there's one day you plan the whole year around. Harvest.

You prepare the ground. You plant good seed. You fight the weeds and pray about the weather. And when it's finally time, you don't sit on the porch and watch. You show up.

Monday night, October 26th, feels like that kind of day to me. The new Home Business Academy goes public at 8pm Eastern, and I'll be on the Zoom call. I'd like you to be there with me.

That's my personal link. If you join HBA through my links, I earn a commission, and your price doesn't change.

How a retired farmer ended up on Zoom on a Monday night

I spent most of my life working the soil in California. My brother and I ran a commercial ag-spraying business for years, and I served on boards for the raisin industry when I farmed full time. Later I had a second career teaching at-risk teenagers on a juvenile justice campus.

Then came retirement. I'll tell you plainly what scared me about it. I did not want to sit in front of the television all day waiting to die.

I was looking for something to do. Something that would keep my mind working, put me around good people, and bring in a little money along the way. One day an email showed up about something called the 30-Minute Workday. I opened it.

That was about five years ago. I've been with The Home Business Academy ever since. I never stopped. I just kept moving forward.

Why I don't trust easily, and why I trust this

Farming teaches you that nothing comes overnight. I've lost crops to weather, to timing, and to life. I've lost money in business too. You don't come through all that believing in get-rich-quick anything.

Teaching taught me the rest. Those kids had been used too many times to trust anybody. The only way I earned their trust was to do what I said I'd do, every single time. Don't blow smoke at them. My brother and I ran our business the same way. Our word was our bond.

So when I tell you why I've stayed with HBA, it isn't hype. What caught my attention from the start was the passion and integrity of Paul Hutchings and Mike Hobbs. Five years in, I still see it. They host live calls five days a week, and when you get stuck, a real person helps you.

What the new HBA looks like

Recently I wrote about the sneak peek of the new HBA members area. The message on the screen was "Growing your freedom tree," and as an old farmer, that one landed with me. Trees don't shoot up in an afternoon. But with deep roots, they stand through the dry years.

Here's what stood out to me in the preview:

  • One place for everything. Your progress, your community, your tools and the live calls in one dashboard, instead of logging in to three different websites.
  • Tools that handle the hard parts. The Funnel Builder for your web pages, writing and image help built right in, and SmartPost to share one piece of content in several places.
  • Real people. The founder-led calls are still there, five days a week.

Monday night is when it all opens up to the public. If you're curious before then, you can look at the sneak peek page here.

If you're retired and wondering whether this is for you

Maybe you're where I was. Social security isn't stretching like it used to. The days feel long. Your family thinks you should just relax and stop trying new things. And the computer feels like it was built for your grandkids, not for you.

I understand all of that. I've been married 53 years to my high school girlfriend. We left California for Illinois to be near our daughter and our grandson. I'm a cancer survivor. I greet at church and run the barbecue for events. I'm no tech wizard. I'm a regular guy who wanted a purpose in retirement and found one.

You don't have to decide anything Monday night. Just come and look. Listen to Paul and Mike, see the new system with your own eyes, and make up your own mind.

Save your seat for the public reveal
